DE HAAN 2016

Just like every year we go to De Haan. However this year I missed 2 days since I had to work on thursday and friday. So friday the 19th after work I took the train to Ostend. I was happy to arrive after about 2.5 hours of traveling. Saturday we started the day with a lovely breakfast in our hotel. Afterwards I went into town to buy some strawberries and then I finally head to the beach where we spend the entire day. We ate boules de berlin and played some beach ball and petanque. The weather wasn't horrible at all, but it wasn't great either. So we left around 17:30 to get ready and eat dinner in de Concessie. We ended the night with a drink in Mano. Unfortunately sunday was our last day and the weather really sucked. In the morning we walked around town and saw 'de oude klepper parade'. Then we got hungry and ate a delicious pancake in de Coqisserie. I'm really glad I could visit De Haan this year, even though I had to work. I honestly love spending time at the seaside with my family. Until next year!

These outfit photos were taken at Revolution Square in Cuba and I think they turned out pretty good. The square is known for the many political things that take place there. Just like every other day in Cuba it was hot (read: between 30 to 35 degrees), so I kept my outfit simple. In my opinion you can never go wrong with a tshirt and shorts. I also wore my new hat from Primark, but I don't wear it a lot here in Belgium. I do find it quite hard to find occasions to wear it. Anyways, I'll leave it for here today. Enjoy the weekend!

top - primark
shorts - abercrombie & fitch
shoes - primark
hat - primark
sunglasses - michael kors
watch - michael kors
bag - longchamp

I have a love-hate relationship with reading. Sometimes I love to read a good book and other times I can't be bothered to read one. However, this holiday I read 3 books and I thought it would be fun to write a little review.

1. On Life - Anna Nooshin
On Life is a Dutch book written by the blogger/youtuber Anna Nooshin. In her second book she interviews people who are close to her. She asks them a lot of different questions about a lot of different topics. It turns out to be great advice. I read it in just a few hours and definitely loved it.

2. Novemberschnee - J├╝rgen Banscherus
This is the first German book I've ever read. In my opinion it was quite easy to read, so I definitely recommend this book to people who are learning German. Anyway, the book is about 3 friends who rob a bank. Unfortunately they get caught doing it. They want to move to Australia, but that turns out to not be that easy.

3. Girl online on tour - Zoe Sugg
The last book I read was Zoe Sugg's second book called 'Girl online on tour'. In this book Penny's boyfriend Noah is going on tour and she is joining him, however it isn't how she expected it to be. She gets anonymous texts and Noah has barely time for her. If you want to know how the book ends, you'll need to buy it! ;-) Soon the third book is coming out and can't wait to read it.

Since we're talking about books, I'm currently reading 'Mijn Berlijn' of Marjolein van der Kolk. The book is all about Berlin and it makes me want to book a trip there. I would definitely use this book to plan the entire trip.

Hi it's been a few days since you've heard of me, but I've decided that from now on I will post on monday, wednesday and friday. This will honestly work best for me. I'm full of inspiration and in the near future you can expect 2 more posts about Cuba.

Anyways, friday after work my mom, sister and me took the train to Brussels where we met my dad to visit the flower carpet. It's been a while since I've visited Brussels, but I loved being back. At la Grand Place there was a flower carpet which was so pretty. I took a few pictures to share with you today. Afterwards we ate dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and it was delicious as always! Today is the last day you can visit the flower carpet in case you were wondering! Have a nice monday everyone! :-)

CUBA 2016

Today I'm going to tell you all about my holiday in Cuba. After a 9,5 hour flight on the 5th of July we finally arrived in Varadero. The first two days we relaxed by the pool and the beach. The third day we had our first excursion to Havana with Cuban Connection Tours. When driving to Havana, we made a stop to drink a Pina Colada. Afterwards we visited Old Havana, Hemingway's stay, Plaza de la Catedral, the Capitol, Revolution Square and we made a little drive in an oldtimer. Then we had another few days spend by the pool and beach before our second excursion to Cienfuegos and Trinidad. Both are very old cities, but definitely worth visiting. The guide also took us to a place where a woman showed us how they make cigars, incredible to see it in real life. I personally liked Trinidad the most, because I loved walking through the old streets and loved the view from the Bell Tower. Our guide told us very interesting things which made the day even better! After two days we went on our last excursion. In the morning we visited a crocodile farm and in the afternoon we snorkeled in the Caribbean sea,  it was an amazing experience. The last three days were spend yet again at the pool and the beach. It was surely one of the best places I've ever swam in, warm temperatures and a clear blue colour. I really wish I could go back right now. Everyone in Cuba was so friendly and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel! Cuba, you were amazing!
